Nationwide, residential home sales declined by 9.6% from the same
month last year. Locally, our year-to-year sales were up by
almost 1 percent.
February new home sales fell nationally by a record 16.7%
reflecting the relative pricing attractiveness of existing homes.
This will likely continue to be a national problem for new home
builders until excess inventory and lower residential prices
moderate.
Our local market continues to outperform national real estate
averages.
